In 1773 a County Carlow labourer discovered a frog with two heads and eight feet while he was cutting a field of wheat.
The nickname ‘Nosey Parker’ owes its origin to a Co. Laois man. Edward Parker, from Cappagh was a sergeant in the British Army in the nineteenth century. Parker had a large fatty tumour right on the point of his nose, which extended over a quarter of an inch below the point of his chin.
