– Carter’s castle
Fife years after the Vietnam War has ended, a Boeing 707 crashed in the Cambodian jungle leaving only four survivors: two teenagers, a beautiful Cambodian stewardess and Donald Carter-a former combat pilot who is terrified of flying. These four find themselves in a hidden valley, cut off from the surrounding rain forest by steep cliffs.
At an abandoned CIA airbase, they find only a hopelessly rusted military plane, an inexplicable cache of gold and currency, and two battered skeletons that bespeak the intentions of whoever will return. Yet within this mystery lies another; an ancient episode of mass murder and a plundered Asian royal treasure that, after four centuries, fulfills its double destiny of a curse on those who trespass and salvation for whoever uses it wisely.
Carter’s Castle, with it’s hidden valley, two lost treasures and thrilling flying sequences, is a marvelous adventure story in the tradition of Raiders of the Lost Ark, a masterpiece of storytelling by the author of Down to a Sunless Sea źródło opisu: St. Martin’s Press 1983
