Patti Smith – Land 250
From March 28 until June 22, 2008, the Fondation Cartier pour l´art contemporain staged the first major exhibition devoted to American artist Patti Smith. A renowned poet, songwriter and singer with a large fan base, Patti Smith has from early on given birth to an iconic world in which poetry, sketches, films and photography mingle.
In the framework of this exhibition, the Fondation Cartier has published a reference book on the photographic work of the artist. In it Patti Smith unveils over two hundred and White I #1 ebook pdf mobi epub" style="text-decoration: underline">black and white photographs, including mainly Polaroids. Taken over a thirty-year period, the works showcased in this book had for the most part hitherto never been published.
